Tools for IT teams

Consider a plastics processor in the Innviertel with three sites and a single person in charge of IT. Outages come to his attention only when the head of production pings him on Teams to complain that everything is down once more. At the same time a major customer, reviewing its suppliers under NIS2, wants to see a current register of all IT assets, and the only one in existence is a three-year-old spreadsheet. With the right tools, firefighting turns into planned work. The IT lead knows which devices and programs exist, what state they are in and what is likely to fail next, before anyone else notices. We choose those tools together with you, then install and tune them remotely. Where licences are required, you buy them directly from the vendor or a reseller.

Everything this covers

Aimed at in-house IT run by a handful of staff, responsible for production halls, offices and branch locations alike, who cannot spend their days on the motorway.

Settle the details with an engineer

Inventory as the foundation

Whether in GLPI or Intune, every machine is captured along with installed programs, the person responsible and where it stands. The result serves as an asset register for working along ISO 27001 principles and for questionnaires from customers and insurers.

Monitoring with a sense of proportion

Depending on scale we use Zabbix, Uptime Kuma or a commercial RMM suite to keep watch over servers, firewalls, inter-site connections, storage and certificate expiry, tuned so that nights stay quiet unless something is genuinely wrong.

Not forgetting the shop floor

PCs attached to machines, weighing scales, label printers and time clocks, often running old operating systems. We record them, monitor them passively and help separate them from the office network rather than patching them blindly.

Updates in rings

Windows and application updates staged through Intune: a test group first, then the office, and the sensitive devices last. You also get an overview of every machine the manufacturer no longer maintains.

Backups in plain sight

The outcome of every nightly backup lands in the console. A failure triggers a message the next morning, not a nasty surprise on the day you need to restore.

Remote support with an audit trail

A remote access tool that requires the user's consent and records sessions, and works just as well for staff at home.

A one-page monthly report

What broke, what still awaits patching, which backups did not complete and which licences, domains or certificates are due for renewal, in language directors understand.

Our working method

Finding out what is out there comes before picking any product. Deployment and adjustment happen over remote connections, location after location.

01

Discovery

Scanning the network and piloting the agent on a handful of PCs shows the true size of the estate, which seldom agrees with the spreadsheet.

02

Selection

A proposal with free and paid options sized to your organisation. Should anything need buying, you purchase it yourself on the basis of a written specification from us.

03

Site-by-site roll-out

Agents are deployed one location at a time. If something has to be restarted or plugged in on site, a member of your staff does it following our instructions.

04

Fine-tuning in month one

Alert limits, patch groups and message routing get refined, and you receive report number one.

A monitoring system that sends twenty warnings every night will be ignored within a fortnight. And then the one alert that genuinely matters gets lost too. That is why we spend most of the first month adjusting thresholds, entering maintenance windows and grouping notifications. The aim is that every warning reaching you calls for a specific action.

Frequently asked questions

They solve different problems. GLPI costs nothing and shines at asset tracking and helpdesk tickets. Intune comes bundled with certain Microsoft 365 subscriptions and is the natural fit once machines are joined to Entra ID. Commercial RMM suites justify their price where devices are numerous, locations are spread out and hands are few. Pairing two of them is common.

It gives you documented proof for three recurring topics: knowing your assets, keeping them patched and watching them. Certification is a separate matter handled by accredited auditors, though we are glad to help you get ready.

No problem. Each agent talks to the central console via an ordinary internet connection, so even a two-PC outlet is included with nothing extra installed on site.

No. We have no vendor partnerships and receive no commission. That is why we start with whatever is free or already licensed in your organisation and recommend paid products only when they pay for themselves.

We charge €110 per hour plus VAT, and you receive a quote once discovery is finished. Commercial licences, if any, are bought by you.
