Area 09 · Development and web

Websites and web applications

Projects in this area stretch from a compact presence for a Mühlviertel joiner’s workshop to a trade portal where installers check their wholesaler’s net prices and pull invoices directly out of Business Central. Our opening video meeting skips colour palettes entirely. Instead we ask what the site must deliver: quote requests, sales, reservations, applicants, or merely an end to customers emailing for duplicate invoices. The answer determines the platform, the scope and the cost.

Finding the right format

Seven formats cover most needs. Page count is rarely the deciding factor. What matters is the chain of events behind the primary call to action: a message to your mailbox, a sales order in your ERP, an eps payment, or a basket total shared out among multiple vendors.

Get advice on the choice

Choosing the technical base

We select technology according to the job and the upkeep bill three years down the line, not according to which tool a developer finds most comfortable.

Adapted ready-made theme

Quickest to launch. Suits a modest budget where a neat appearance is enough and standing apart visually from rivals is not a priority.

WordPress websites

Our most common recommendation. A made-to-measure block theme, WooCommerce for selling, and links into BMD, RZL or Odoo. The large pool of WordPress specialists means no lock-in.

Shopify and other platforms

For retailers with ambition. Shopware, a favourite throughout the DACH region; Shopify when speed and several markets matter; Magento for large, intricate assortments; and a headless set-up if your marketing team wants to shape the storefront itself.

CMS-free web application

The heavyweight option. High visitor numbers, unconventional logic, or a cluster of services that must share one data source rather than shuttling copies around.

An established platform is slightly dearer at the outset than a bought theme, and cheaper over its lifetime. WordPress, Shopware, WooCommerce and Shopify skills are common, so moving to another agency never forces a rebuild. Connections to BMD, RZL, Business Central or marketplaces go through supported extensions and documented interfaces, not through an improvised hack that becomes unreadable a couple of years on.

Project stages

Four stages, each ending with your approval. Collaboration is entirely online: video workshops, a joint task board and a preview installation open to you around the clock. Nobody needs to travel.

01

Purpose and sitemap

Together we define the audiences and the actions they should take. Deliverables: a sitemap, a requirements list, and a schedule for content and interfaces.

02

Layout sketches, then visuals

Monochrome sketches come first, since rearranging them is free. Visual design for the key views on mobile and desktop follows.

03

Development and population

Programming, interfaces, texts and imagery. Everything is visible on the preview installation, and your feedback is folded in continuously.

04

Go-live and ongoing care

Final acceptance, publication, 301 redirects for former addresses and a training session for your editors. A maintenance agreement can take over afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Prices vary a lot, since a brochure site on an adapted theme shares little with an ERP-connected B2B platform. Cost depends mainly on the number of distinct visitor paths, the number of interfaces and the share of bespoke design. Following our first video meeting, you receive an estimate with a written scope. Additional work beyond that scope is charged at €110 per hour plus VAT.

Entirely. Workshops take place in Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, the task board shows progress to everyone, and approvals happen on the preview installation. Need pictures of your premises or staff? A colleague or a photographer near you can take them, guided by a checklist from us.

Your organisation, without exception: domain, hosting contract, Shopify store, plugin subscriptions, Search Console and the analytics property. We are given personal logins with limited permissions, and you can remove them whenever you like. Changing agency later involves no handover negotiations at all.

As a minimum, an imprint meeting the Austrian E-Commerce Act and Media Act, a GDPR privacy statement, and, as soon as optional cookies are involved, a consent tool that satisfies § 165 TKG 2021. Shops additionally need the pre-contractual information for consumers, including the right of withdrawal, usually their own terms of sale and, subject to company size, accessibility in line with the Accessibility Act (BaFG). We implement the mechanics; the texts should be checked by your lawyer.

That is settled project by project. Article data is almost always imported, either from your merchandise system or from a maintained spreadsheet. Descriptions, photographs and the story of your business usually come from your side, because you know your craft best. If time is short in your team, we can quote copywriting as an extra line item.

Describe your web project

A few lines are enough: what your company does, whether a site exists already and what the new one should achieve. You hear back within one working day, with a proposal for a video call to define the scope.
