Solution · Company size

Mid-sized companies

Consider an automotive supplier in Styria: 140 staff across admin and production, and one highly capable IT lead who keeps the ERP running, fixes sales laptops, maintains wireless coverage on the shop floor and watches the gate cameras. Then its biggest customer, a German car group, sends a supplier security questionnaire. Forty questions on multi-factor login, whether restores are ever rehearsed and what happens after a breach, answers due in a fortnight. Skill is not the bottleneck; time is. Apply adds remote capacity to that one-person team exactly where it runs short, without pushing anybody aside.

Where Apply steps in

Once a company reaches this size, whether Monday starts smoothly hinges on servers, directory accounts, permissions and the data itself rather than on any one laptop. Know-how about how the firm operates stays in-house; we look after the plumbing beneath it.

Show us what you run

Bare metal and VMs

We look after Windows Server and Linux wherever they happen to live: a rack in your basement, a host like Exoscale, Anexia or Hetzner, or an EU region of Microsoft Azure. Patches are applied in pre-agreed windows, and our change log records who altered what, and when.

Permissions that follow the job

Group structures in on-premises AD and in Entra ID are reorganised per department, replacing exceptions someone granted “just this once” long ago. New hires can log in on their first morning; departing staff are locked out, ERP access too, before they reach the car park.

Backups proven by recovery

Scheduled jobs protect every server, the Microsoft 365 tenant and the ERP's database, and one copy always leaves the building. Periodically we pick a system at random, bring it back and note how many minutes that needed. Until someone has restored it, a backup is merely an assumption.

LAN, Wi-Fi and uplinks

Firewalls, switches and access points are set up and watched from afar. Guests, CCTV and production machines each get a separate VLAN, and an existing LTE or 5G router takes over by itself if the fibre line drops.

Questionnaires, NIS2 and TISAX

We help you give honest answers to large customers' security surveys and collect the evidence behind them: MFA coverage, the backup concept, how incidents get reported, and records showing who used admin rights. If an automotive customer asks for a TISAX assessment, we get the technical side ready.

Figures you can budget with

On a regular cycle you get numbers straight out of our helpdesk system: how many requests arrived, how many deadlines held, where patching and backups stand, which risks are building up. That lets you plan next year's IT spend up front instead of explaining costs after they hit.

Own staff, external partner, or a mix

Few mid-sized firms go fully internal or fully external. We see three arrangements again and again, and the middle one survives summer holidays and flu season best.

Frequently asked questions

Perhaps not. Plenty of suppliers fall outside both the NIS2 Directive and the Austrian NIS Act. If the customer is an essential or important entity, however, it has to take the security of its suppliers into account, hence the questions about logins, backups and incident reports. A lawyer can tell you whether duties land on you directly. Our part is to answer the technical questions truthfully and fix any shortcomings before the same survey returns next year.

No. Nobody outside knows your machines, habits and users as well as he does, so he stays at the centre. We take over routine chores, monitoring and deep specialist topics, say firewall tuning, Intune or a delicate restore, leaving him room for ERP work and projects. He can also spend a holiday by the Wörthersee without packing his laptop.

All requests land in one queue, sorted by simple rules: ERP matters and production users are his, while networking, servers, backups and security are ours. A half-hour video check-in every week or two covers outstanding items and planned changes. Documentation written along the way is your property and stays with you should you ever change supplier.

No. The reseller for BMD, Mesonic WinLine, SAP Business One or Dynamics 365 keeps its role, as does the developer behind any custom software. Apply covers what sits underneath: the server, the database engine, speed, backups, remote connections and when updates happen. The reseller finds a documented system waiting, and you no longer have to judge between two conflicting accounts of one fault.

No, and every questionnaire we fill in says so. Our access controls, logging and processes follow ISO 27001 principles, and we can support you if your own company is working towards certification or a TISAX label. Certificates are issued by accredited bodies, never by Apply.
