PC trouble solved from your sofa

Forget lugging the notebook to an electronics store or taking a morning off to let a technician in. Send us a line, pick a slot, and one of our engineers links up with your machine over the internet. Every click happens where you can watch it, with a running explanation. You remain the boss of your computer: closing a single window cuts us off instantly.

Typical household problems we handle remotely

Nine times out of ten, a misbehaving home PC suffers from a tweaked option, a botched update or software that crept in uninvited. None of that requires anyone to be physically present. Should a part genuinely be broken, you will hear it from us straight, together with a written note of what a local workshop should check.

Tell us what is wrong

Boot-up feels endless

Out go the programs that launch themselves at power-on and the trialware the manufacturer bundled. We inspect disk health and pending Windows or macOS updates, then give you an honest verdict: would a solid-state drive or more RAM still pay off on this particular machine? Details under PC clean-up and malware removal.

Malware, scareware, bogus helplines

Pop-ups announce a lottery win, your browser lands on dubious sites unprompted, or a fake “Microsoft” alert insists the PC is blocked and demands you dial some number. We strip out the rogue software and add-ons and tune the security settings so the episode does not repeat itself weeks later.

Gmail, Outlook, GMX or provider mail misbehaving

Outgoing messages pile up unsent, storage has run out, or the address supplied with your broadband plan will not cooperate with the smartphone. We correct server settings, recover older correspondence where it still exists and leave you with a tidy folder layout you can maintain without help.

ID Austria, FinanzOnline and e-government

Tax refund season has arrived, yet the ID Austria login keeps failing, the app has not been activated on your replacement handset, or the portal just won't load. Together we work through the setup until you are signed in. PINs and passwords are entered by you, never by us.

Home router and wireless coverage

Guided by us, you open the admin page of the box supplied by A1, Magenta, Drei or another provider. We then replace the wireless key, create a separate guest network, apply current firmware and work out a better position for the device, so the far bedroom finally has signal. That printer the laptop suddenly cannot find? Sorted in the same session.

Safeguarding pictures and paperwork

Keeping every holiday snapshot since 2010 on one lone hard disk is asking for heartbreak. We schedule automatic copies to a USB drive or to OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud, then pick any file and bring it back with you watching, as proof that the copies are usable.

Getting a new PC ready

Documents and applications migrate from the old device, two-step verification gets switched on for important logins such as banking and mail, and the questions you felt awkward raising elsewhere get patient answers. Prefer steady learning spread across several weeks? Take a look at One-to-one training.

Prices

Every figure below already contains Austria's 20% VAT. The cost is agreed before anything starts, and if the job grows, the engineer pauses for your yes or no.

Home visits are not part of what we offer. Every service runs over a remote connection. Where hardware must be swapped or a case opened, you receive precise written instructions for the shop or manufacturer, so you avoid paying for repairs that are unnecessary.

A session, step by step

Requirements: a computer that powers up and an internet connection. That is all.

01

Your message

Fill in the form or mail support@apply.at, explaining the symptoms, the device involved and when you are free to sit at it.

02

Quote and slot

Back comes a fixed price and a proposed time. You pay beforehand by credit card via an encrypted checkout link.

03

Going online together

A tiny remote-access app is downloaded, and you pass the displayed code to the engineer. Unless you are there at the keyboard, the connection cannot be opened.

04

Repair and recap

Nothing happens off-screen. When we finish, a brief written recap lands in your inbox, along with advice on preventing a repeat.

Frequently asked questions

We never make the first move. Sessions only follow a request from you, and confirmations are sent exclusively from support@apply.at. Your banking login, any one-time SMS code and your ID Austria PIN are things we will not request under any circumstances. Anyone claiming to be Apply who does ask for them is not us, so break off contact at once.

No. The link is encrypted, unlocked by a single-use code that only you can share, and terminable whenever you like. Close the app and no pathway to your machine remains.

Yes, although remote access requires a working system. Point your smartphone camera at the device during a video chat and we can frequently tell whether the power supply, battery or software is to blame, and occasionally get it running again. Failing that, we prepare a short fault description for a nearby workshop so its staff know where to begin.

Quite often, provided the files were merely deleted or the folder synchronised with cloud storage, and provided the disk has not been written to since. Physical damage to the drive calls for a specialist recovery lab; we can help you pick a trustworthy one and interpret the cost estimate.

Payment is by credit card, in advance, using an encrypted link, and a receipt follows automatically. Request it before paying and we will make out an invoice to you personally. Everything else is explained on the Payment page.

As a consumer who agrees a contract online or by email, you generally have 14 days to withdraw under the Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (FAGG). If you expressly ask us to start the remote session before that period ends, a withdrawal means you only pay for the part already delivered. Once the service has been provided in full, the right to withdraw no longer applies. To withdraw, simply write to support@apply.at.

Running a business rather than a household?

Small firms and sole traders can choose remote service plans with reaction times written into the contract and round-the-clock monitoring of their systems.

Plans for companies

Reserve a remote appointment

A few lines are enough: what has stopped working and when you are free to be at the computer. During service hours we email back a price and a proposed time.
