S3-compatible object storage, for instance at Exoscale in Vienna, Anexia, Hetzner, IONOS or OVHcloud, or alternatively Azure or AWS in an EU region. The storage account belongs to you and is billed directly by the provider. We receive only the rights needed for operation. Should you change IT partner later, your backups stay exactly where they are.

Upload is much slower than download on many connections, so the first full backup runs across nights and weekends. After that only changes are transferred.

A cloud backup sharing credentials with the company network offers no protection against ransomware. Attackers now hunt specifically for backup consoles and delete the copies before encrypting anything. We therefore keep backup credentials separate from the company directory, require multi-factor sign-in and lock the backups with Object Lock, so they cannot disappear early even with administrator rights.
In most cases, yes. Upload speed is what counts. After the initial backup only changes travel, often just a few gigabytes on an ordinary day. We run the numbers with your figures in advance.
Nothing. The account and contract with the storage provider are in your name and you hold the key. We hand over documentation and access, and another partner can carry on seamlessly.
The limiting factor is your download bandwidth. At 300 Mbit per second, pulling down a terabyte takes around eight hours before any service is started again. That is why a single lost spreadsheet comes from the local copy instead.
