An outdoor clothing retailer in Vorarlberg trades through its own WooCommerce store, through amazon.de, which delivers to Austria, and since recently through Kaufland.at. Returned and second-grade items are posted individually on willhaben, and Zalando's partner programme is the next target. Twice a day someone adjusts stock figures by hand. That holds until one Saturday the last size-M jacket is bought on Amazon and in the web store within the same minute. One of the two orders must be cancelled, and platforms keep score. Sellers who cancel too often or dispatch late drop in the rankings or lose their account. A marketplace connection removes that manual juggling: product data lives in one place, one inventory figure applies everywhere, each platform's commission is built into its price, and every order lands where your warehouse already does its picking.
Getting listings online is quick. The effort goes into inventory, margin-safe pricing, the mandatory fields of each category and returns that are not lost on the way.
Amazon via amazon.de with delivery to Austria, eBay, Kaufland.at, Zalando through its partner programme, MediaMarkt Marketplace, and willhaben for one-offs, second-grade stock and returns. Each has its own categories, required attributes and rules for dispatch and returns.
Feed tool or direct API
Channable or Productsup if you want a fast start and one console for several platforms; a direct API integration if volume or unusual rules make it worthwhile.
Listings tailored per platform
GTIN, brand, sizes and colours as clean variants, materials, care labels and images meeting each platform's specification. Zalando, for instance, is far stricter about photos and size charts than eBay.
Inventory with a margin
All platforms read from the same stock, with a configurable reserve for items running low. During promotions units can be ring-fenced for one platform.
Pricing that covers fees
Per-platform rules that fold in commission, postage and promotional discounts, plus a floor below which an offer is never published.
Orders, invoices, tracking
Orders from all platforms arrive in your store, in JTL or in the ERP, go through the normal picking routine and are invoiced correctly. Tracking details reach the platform before its deadline.
Returns and compliance fields
Returned goods go back into stock and trigger a draft credit note. Packaging or electrical-goods registration numbers that some platforms demand are stored in the product data; obtaining the registrations is up to you or your advisers.
Our working method
The first platform is the heaviest lift, because product data and inventory need harmonising. Every one after that is considerably quicker.
01
Data review
We inspect your product data: missing GTINs, messy variants, images below standard. Gaps are filled before anything goes live.
02
Matching
Each item is paired with its platform listing using GTIN and SKU, and doubtful pairs are reviewed individually.
03
Trial run
One genuine order followed from reservation through invoice, label and tracking to a return with its credit note.
04
Phased activation
A subset of the range with well-kept data goes live first; after two weeks free of overselling and error messages the rest follows. Along the way we keep an eye on cancellation rate and on-time dispatch.
willhaben is not Amazon, and that works in your favour. Plenty of retailers know willhaben only as private users and miss how readily B-grade goods, ex-display pieces and returns find buyers there, usually without the price war of the big platforms. The key is to keep such pieces as separate items in inventory, so they never appear in the store as new and their condition is stated honestly.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on your range. Amazon offers more reach and more price pressure, and many products already have dozens of sellers there. For Austrian retailers Kaufland.at is often a calmer entry point with fewer competitors per item. We compare your best sellers on both platforms and suggest an order of play.
Under the EU General Product Safety Regulation, platforms increasingly require information on the manufacturer, a responsible person within the EU and safety notes. Listings lacking them may be hidden. We create the fields once in your product master and push them to every channel; the accuracy of the content comes from you or your supplier.
Not necessarily. Channable or Productsup save a lot of development effort across many channels but carry a monthly bill. With one or two marketplaces and stable rules, a direct integration frequently pays for itself within the first year. We run both scenarios using your own numbers.
Yes, by the same route as shop orders. The key is correct treatment of marketplace fees, payouts and any invoices the platform issues on your behalf. We agree that with your tax adviser and deliver the data to BMD, RZL or your ERP.
Where are you selling today, which platforms are on your list and which system holds your stock? We will recommend a feed tool or a direct integration and give you a schedule.
