Inventory and dependencies
Which servers exist, what runs on them, which applications talk to each other and which hardware is attached, such as a licence dongle or a serial interface. Special cases like these are settled before anything is bought.
Virtualisation is a decision with long-lasting effects rather than a product you plug in. That is why planning and testing take more of our time than the installation itself.

A week of recorded CPU, memory, storage and network load, including month-end peaks. On top of that comes headroom for growth and for the moment when one host must carry everything alone.
Hyper-V is the obvious fit for all-Windows estates with a Datacenter licence, Proxmox VE scores on cost and ships with ZFS and Ceph, and VMware stays sensible where a vendor requires it. We write down the pros and cons for your situation.
Local SSDs with replication, shared storage, or a Ceph cluster from three hosts upwards. Separate networks for management, replication and application traffic.
Each server moved in an agreed window, tested with the people who use the application every day, and a fallback to the old hardware kept for the first few days.
Whole-VM backups with an off-site copy, for instance in a data centre in Austria or the EU, and frequent replication between the hosts.
A document stating the order in which machines start, which dependencies matter and who is informed. Tested before we close the project.
How long it takes depends mostly on the number of servers and the hardware delivery time. The work itself needs no on-site appointment.
Inventory, measurements, dependencies and a conversation about how much downtime you can afford.
Platform, a hardware list for your reseller, network layout, and a backup and restart concept costed over three years.
Once the reseller has delivered and racked the kit, we install through the remote management console, configure networking and storage and benchmark performance.
Server by server, followed by a planned failure test in which we switch off one host and confirm everything keeps running.
Check hardware with special connections first. In haulage, manufacturing and medical practices, servers often have licence dongles, measuring devices or telematics receivers attached via USB or a serial port. Not every platform passes such devices through to a virtual machine reliably. We clarify this with the software vendor before you buy, so the project does not stall on the very last server.
Two can be enough if downtime is expensive or the hardware is due for renewal anyway. The gain then lies less in fewer boxes than in the undo option for updates and a quick restart. With a single new server and good backups we often suggest waiting.
Yes, provided someone understands the platform. Proxmox is developed by a company based in Vienna, is open source and offers paid subscriptions with stable update channels and vendor support. We recommend that subscription for production systems.
If contracts are still running there is no rush. We work out what a renewal costs compared with Hyper-V or Proxmox and check whether your backup software and business applications support the alternative. Migration can happen gradually.
Yes, virtual machines can run with providers that operate data centres in Austria and the EU, such as Exoscale, Anexia or Hetzner. Whether it pays depends on data volumes, the licensing terms of your specialist software and your internet connection. We lay both options side by side.
The manufacturer under warranty, or your reseller. Thanks to replication the machines keep running on the second host in the meantime. We coordinate the warranty claim and bring the repaired host back into service.
Which servers do you run today, what is on them and is any special hardware attached? We will reply with initial questions and an outline design.

Our reply reaches you within one working day. Outages that leave your staff unable to work are dealt with first.
We could not find that town. Try another spelling, or choose whichever provincial capital lies closest; as everything is handled remotely, you get the same service in all nine Austrian states.
